It's summer. That means ALL of the doctors appointments. And now that I'm 45 that means colonoscopy. I opted for Cologuard. After my mammogram this morning I came home and pooped in a box... then I mailed it to Wisconsin. Then I thought about the people that work for Cologuard. Those poor folks. They literally deal with a lot of shit. (Pun intended). So far this summer I have had lots of things poked and prodded for my health. But as we reach a certain age we must endure it all for the sake of living longer. By deciding a few years ago to be healthier I have really helped prolonged my life. I have become a better version of myself. I'm not perfect, but I am not the same person I was then.
I am happy to report that my blood work is very good. My sugars, cholesterol and such all look great! My next appointment is with a menopause specialist to deal with symptoms that I'm learning are probably due to peri and that there is treatment!! These are symptoms I've been dealing with for over a year now and most doctors have shrugged and said "try this". I am very excited for this appointment.
